Program Innovation Fund

Overview

The Program Innovation Fund (PIF) supports the implementation of University of Toronto Quality Assurance Process (UTQAP) review recommendations related to curriculum renewal, course or program development or change, etc.

Eligibility

Projects are eligible if they are related to plans outlined in the Dean’s administrative response and implementation plan for the UTQAP review.

Application Process

Please submit a brief (2-3 page) letter from the Dean to the Vice-Provost, Academic Programs, and include the following details:

  • the amount requested;
  • a brief background on the review, and the issues/recommendations and implementation plan items that the PIF funds will be used to address;
  • the planned use of the funds (e.g., course release, retreat facilitation, etc.), including how the funds will support one or more specific actions within the implementation plan;
  • whether you will be drawing on the expertise of the Vice-Provost, Innovations in Undergraduate Education’s Curriculum Development Specialist, who is available to assist with curriculum mapping and other curriculum alignment projects as part of the implementation of review recommendations.

Please send requests to vp.academicprograms@utoronto.ca and attach the applicable administrative response and implementation plan.

VPAP staff will follow up if any further information is needed.

Deadlines & Reporting

Requests are considered on a rolling basis. When PIF funding is awarded, the Dean’s Interim Monitoring Report on the implementation of recommendations must include information on how these funds have been used.
