Academic Change

Overview

The University of Toronto embraces academic change as a critical part of maintaining and enhancing programs of outstanding quality through a process of continuous improvement.

Proposals for major modifications, minor modifications, new degree programs and program closures are the vehicles of academic change.

The content and approval of proposals are informed by the University of Toronto Quality Assurance Process (UTQAP). Academic changes approved in proposals are communicated in the University calendars. Our annual reports demonstrate the breadth and variety of academic change at the University of Toronto.

Any faculty member interested in creating an entirely new academic program; modifying an existing academic program; or closing an existing program or a component of an existing program (whether graduate or undergraduate) should contact their Dean’s Office for advice and assistance.
